I realize that I'm treading on thin ice by talking about this, but I'm going to take my chances.

There is a certain amount of the population that doesn't want to discuss any sort of change when it comes to our beloved Montana.  In fact, making a suggestion will often get you the response "If you don't like it, go back to where you came from!"

However, I've heard several transplants AND locals suggest that it's time to step it up when it comes to family-friendly activities.

First, let me say this, we certainly don't lack activities here in Montana, but most of those have to do with hiking, rafting, hunting, skiing, fishing, or hanging out at a National Park.  The truth is, a lot of those activities can be rather expensive for individuals, not to mention for families.

While we certainly don't want to lose any of those or the tourism dollars they bring in, what if we were to add additional options for not only those visiting but those of us who live here all year round?

Things like water and amusement parks, miniature golf, go-carts, arcades, batting cages, and so forth could not only be a big hit for tourists, but would also give locals some added fun as well, plus, it could be a real money maker for the state. I mean think about this, millions of folks come to Montana each year, they stay in our hotels, they eat at our restaurants, and they shop in our stores, this would be another way to bring in extra dollars.

Take Bozeman for example, the airport is not only the busiest in the state but one of the busiest in the region.  Imagine if you were to continue to develop that area with more hotels, restaurants, shopping options, AND family-friendly fun activities

What do you think?  Do we need more family-friendly options in Montana, or do you think we have enough already?  Let us know by sending us a message on our radio station app.
