One Montana City Considered To Have Lowest Cost Of Living
If you want to live in an affordable place, this Montana city should be on your radar.
With rising prices for goods, services, and housing, it can be hard to find a place with a low cost of living. You would think living in Montana would be semi-reasonable, but that isn't the case.
Places like Bozeman, Whitefish, and Missoula have seen their cost of living skyrocket since 2020, forcing many locals to move elsewhere.

We learned a few days ago that if you wanted to live comfortably in Montana with kids, you would have to make well over $200,000 in your household. The median salary in Montana is $60K. That might be a problem.
Some towns in Montana still have affordable prices like housing, but what if you want to live in a city?
There are only a handful of cities in Montana, and one is considered affordable.
Niche put out a list of the 2024 Cities With the Lowest Cost of Living, and one Montana city barely scraped on the list.
Which city? It was Montana's most populous city in Billings. It was #145 out of 220.
Billing received a B grade overall. They broke down the categories into housing, public schools, crime, and more.
Billings is one of the few places that wasn't hugely affected by the large influx of new residents. The city has fantastic prices for housing, goods, and services.
Some folks like to make fun of Billings, but they have a lot going for them. There are fantastic schools, shopping, restaurants, and fun for families.
Maybe more Montana cities will be considered, but a lot has to change for that to happen.
