CDC Announces Big Recall Of Packaged Onions in Montana
You might want to check your freezers or fridges to see if you have this food item because it could get you sick.
No one wants to eat the foods they enjoy and get sick. There have been several food recalls over the past few months, and the Food Drug Administration has been solid in letting the public know what food issues are happening in America.
One new recall has been announced that needs to be on your radar if you are a fan of putting onions in your food.
Eat This, Not That reports the new recall involves packaged onions from Gills Onions. These prepackaged onions may contain salmonella. Salmonella symptoms can include fever, stomach cramps, and diarrhea. Salmonella will make you violently ill, but it can get you hospitalized in rare cases.
So far, over 70 people have been reported ill, and 15 have been hospitalized.
The Gills Onions products affected included diced yellow onions, a mix of yellow onion and celery, diced red onions, and diced mirepoix. These products were sold in the Pacific Northwest and Montana.
Gills Onions got most of the packaged recalled onions, but several people might have these packages in their freezers. If you have any Gills Onion products with a 'Best By August 2023' date, please throw them out.
No one wants to get sick while eating their favorite foods. These onions are a popular item that people include in many dishes, and everyone must be careful. Please clean the food you're about to eat.
Please be careful!
