Buckle Up, Bozeman: Construction Season Is Almost Here! Great…
Locals will want to avoid this area in Bozeman for the next few weeks to avoid traffic.
Even though it snowed overnight, the weather is warming up. This time of the year is the best. Locals love getting outside to go camping, hiking, or road trips for a vacation.
You can't stop smiling when the weather is gorgeous and the sun is out.
Is there a downside? Sadly, yes.
This is also the time of the year when all the road construction projects start. That means slower speeds, traffic, and road closures.
Bozeman better be ready because one of the first projects starts next week.
NBC Montana reports the Montana Department of Transportation will shut down Bozeman's on and off ramps for Main Street starting Monday, April 22nd.
Why? The ramps need resurfacing and zero traffic to complete the project quickly.
The project should only take one week to complete barring weather, and all the ramps won't be closed simultaneously.
So that's nice, but this is just the beginning.
Even though this is a small project that won't take up much time, you will need to brace yourself for the rest of the spring and summer.
Road construction projects will be in full swing soon because this is the only time of the year they can get the work done. We will see projects all over Montana.
One of the best ways to stay current is through the Montana Department of Transportation. They have all their active and upcoming projects coming up this summer.
Another tip for road trips is to download their app for road conditions. It shows where all the construction projects are happening. That will help you avoid any slow-down areas.
