On the 4th of July a 36 year old man suffered a heat related injury near the 'M' after hiking the Ridge Trail from Fairy Lake. The Gallatin County Sheriff's Office, Gallatin Country Search and Rescue, Bridger Canyon Fire and an American Medical Response ambulance reported were on the scene.

 

According to the details, the man ran out of water during his hike and collapsed. Other hikers couldn't get him back to his feet. Rescuers hiked to the man and provided first aid, and then transported him down the trail with a specialized wheel litter. The ambulance then transported the man tot he Bozeman Health Hospital.

Remember, if you are going into the backcountry make sure to bring plenty of supplies and clothing because you never know what you might encounter.
