[PHOTOS] Buffalo Traffic Jam Performs Free Concert in Bozeman

Indie-folk standouts Buffalo Traffic Jam made a triumphant return to their roots on Thursday, July 30, taking over the Rialto in downtown Bozeman for a surprise, free album release show.

The announcement, dropped just a couple of days prior on social media, sparked immediate frenzy. Fans traveled from across Montana and beyond for a shot at entering the intimate venue.

With the Rialto’s capacity capped at roughly 400 to 500 people, thousands filled the downtown streets hoping to get inside. Dedicated listeners began braving the scorching summer heat as early as 2:00 p.m. to secure a spot in line, though the limited space meant many were ultimately turned away.

For the lucky few who made it through the doors, the atmosphere inside was electric. Formed while co-founders Frankie Cassidy and Nathan Ross were students at Montana State University, the band brought their journey full circle by celebrating where it all began.

Buffalo Traffic Jam performed a 45-minute set in honor of their newly released debut full-length album, Pictures of You. The crowd sang along to every word as the band showcased fresh tracks alongside their breakout hit, "Fool's Gold," which closed out the night.

Throughout the performance, the duo repeatedly voiced their deep gratitude and love for the hometown crowd.

Buffalo Traffic Jam is set to return to Bozeman this December for a two-night, sold-out run at The ELM.
