Locals Trash This Montana City, But It’s Amazing For One Reason
This Montana city gets dragged all the time by locals, but this place does something that should be copied.
Montana cities love talking trash about each other. Locals will critique the area, atmosphere, shopping, bars, restaurants, etc. Why do we do this? Mainly because we love to debate which city is the best in Montana.
One city gets the brunt of the trash talk more than any other. That city is Great Falls.
Great Falls is located in north central Montana and is known for Malmstrom Air Force Base and being the home to Charles M. Russell, one of the most prolific artists of the Old West.
I was in Great Falls this past weekend and saw something while walking downtown that I think should be replicated in every Montana city.
Downtown Great Falls has these gorgeous old-school brick buildings that have been around for decades or over a hundred years. While walking through downtown Great Falls, I noticed these beautiful murals covering the whole side of buildings and stood at least three stories tall. Here's one of the murals that caught my eye.
I did some research, and Great Falls held an ArtFest that brought artists from all over the world and Montana to design and create these beautiful works of art. The one above is from an artist from Argentina named Cobre. He recently did a mural over ten stories tall of Lionel Messi in his home country. This particular mural was named one of the 100 Best Worldwide Murals for 2022.
Check out this video from Visit Great Falls of the other murals you could see in Great Falls.

You don't see beautiful murals like this in Montana every day, and it's a spectacle to enjoy. I would love to see more Montana cities like Bozeman, Missoula, and Butte with old brick buildings get involved.
Who wouldn't love to see a gorgeous mural that covers a whole side of a building that captivates your eyes and mind? I think the US Bank building or the Baxter Hotel would be perfect spots for a giant mural to be put up.
These murals are attractions locals, families, and visitors can enjoy while walking around downtown Great Falls. We can't wait to see what comes next.
