One Thing The State of Montana Desperately Needs

This idea might not seem crucial for Montana, but many people would love to see this become a reality.

Montana is a place for all kinds of people. Ranchers, farmers, entrepreneurs, outdoorsy folks, and more come to Montana to enjoy what the state offers.

One thing folks here in Montana love is going to concerts. Locals will make any excuse to go to a show in any city. The concert could be in a bar or at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse, and folks will get together with friends and have the best night out.

During the late spring through early fall, you could find a show daily in any of Montana's largest cities. Montana has some incredible venues to check out.

Logjam Present's Kettlehouse Amphitheater and Big Sky Brewing Company are incredible outdoor venues. They host all genres of concerts, and they are popular with locals and visitors.

The biggest problem is Montana's warm months are short. So that means these venues are only open for a few months of the year. Sure, the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse in Bozeman and MetraPark in Billings can host medium size shows, but it feels off cause the layouts of both buildings.

What can we do to fix that? We have an idea.

Someone needs to build a medium size concert venue that could be used during the year. A concert venue that can hold between 4,000 to 7,000 people. That would be perfect.

Why does Montana need this? Well, during the winter months, the only shows Montana sees are either small shows or big shows. There's nothing wrong with that, but we need something in between to bring in the shows we only see during the summer.

Where would this concert venue be built? That's the tricky part. Bozeman, Butte, and Helena seem like logical choices, but some folks don't like traveling during the winter to these places.

Before COVID-19 hit the world, Logjam Presents planned on building a medium size venue in Missoula called The Drift. It was going to be a concert/hotel combination building and was to be constructed down the road from the famous Wilma Theater.

Maybe that can still happen, but we haven't heard anything about The Drift in years.
