Let's be honest, we don't want to talk about winter here in Montana because not only can winters here can be brutal, they last a long time.

Direct Weather, which is a YouTube channel with almost 100,000 subscribers, laid out what they believe will be the possible winter forecast for the 2020-2021 season and for Montana, it seems like it will be more of the same.

In the fourteen minute video, they go into pretty great detail on what to possibly expect for precipitation(very above average for Gallatin County) temperature(very below average for Montana) and snowfall(more than normal average).

The reason being for this possible forecast is due to La Nina season this year. That means that temperatures in our area are going to be much cooler than during an El Nino year.

Needless to say, this is a pretty standard winter forecast for Montana. We won't truly know what we are in for until winter hits which could start anywhere from mid-October to December.

Montana weather is just weird though. We could have a mild winter till late January and then we will get hammered with snow through the Spring. There is no way to truly predict on what we will have to endure.

Let's just be real, there will be snow. Lots of it no matter what and the temperatures will be go anywhere from 30 degrees to negative in the blink of an eye.

So just be prepared for your Montana winter and be safe because we don't know what Montana will throw at us next.
