There are several places of interest that people tend to skip over when they visit Montana, which is unfortunate. These attractions are as great as anything else in the state, and you don't have to mess with the massive crowds.

So which attractions are underrated?

The first one is the Garden of a Thousand Buddhas. Located in the small town of Arlee, Montana, the Garden of a Thousand Buddhas seems out of place but is a beautiful attraction. This is a Tibetan temple in the heart of western Montana and is open to the public.

Another one is Our Lady of the Rockies in Butte, Montana. If you aren't from Montana and don't pay attention while driving, you might miss a 90-foot-tall statue on the mountain ridge in Butte, Montana. The statue resembles Mary, the mother of Jesus, was constructed in 1985, and offers daily tours during the warmer months.

The last attraction we want to mention is Blacktail Mountain Ski Area in Lakeside, Montana. Blacktail is a ski area unlike any other in Montana. It's one of the few upside-down ski areas in the United States. That means instead of parking at the base of the mountain, you drive to the top and can ski or snowboard down your first ride. This ski area is usually a low-key mountain where locals who don't want to spend a ton of money go, but Blacktail gets fantastic snow. Their lodge has a full bar and restaurant, and ample area to kick back and rest if needed.
