Maybe not cities like Missoula or Bozeman, but some places in Montana are fantastic for a weekend getaway.

We saw a list of America's Best Weekend Destinations. That had us thinking, where are the best weekend getaways in Montana?
Here are three Montana towns that are perfect weekend getaways.
1. Red Lodge
If you love towns that haven't changed, Red Lodge is awesome. This mountain town has an incredible main street with restaurants and shops. You are also close enough to some majestic hiking areas. It's an underrated spot in Montana.
2. Whitefish
Whitefish was named as Montana's best weekend getaway, and we can't disagree. The town sits at the base of a gorgeous mountain range and has the cutest downtown area. There are things to do in the winter or summer and the community has several incredible events to enjoy for the whole family.
3. Philipsburg
In the center of Montana is the awesome historic town of Philipsburg. The area has Georgetown Lake, Discovery Ski Area, and one of Montana's best breweries. Philipsburg looks like it hasn't changed in decades, and the community is cordial to everyone.
