Success of MSU Women’s Basketball Pays Dividends for Coach
Coach Tricia Binford has grown Montana State women's basketball into a consistent winner.
406 MT Sports is reporting that Coach Tricia Binford for the Montana State Bobcats women's basketball team has become the only women's basketball coach in the Big Sky Conference to earn a higher base salary than the men's coach at the same school.
MSU's Tricia Binford's new contract started July 1st and increased her base salary from $156,706 to $165,000. The men's coach for the Bobcats Danny Sprinkle makes $164,000.
In the 15 years that Tricia Binford has been the coach for the women's basketball coach for the Bobcats, they have won three regular season conference titles and one conference tournament title.
This past year they Lady Bobcats went 25-6 and had a great chance to make the NCAA Tournament again but it was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Bobcat women's basketball team has a huge following ever since Binford took over the team. Their games are fast paced and the crowds at the games are usually sold out.
Coach Tricia Binford's deserved this pay day for so long. She has turned around the Montana State women's basketball program and has them set up for the future.
Ever since I moved here to Bozeman almost six years ago, the Montana State women's basketball team has been always the top or near the top of the conference every single year.
That just goes to show all the hard work she has put into growing the program into a power house in the Big Sky Conference.
Congrats Tricia Binford, you deserve it.
