Should I Move? Arizona Made Us Montanans Feel Very Welcomed

Not in all the time when we planned this trip with my friends did I expect to have one of the best times of my life. 

This past October 2021, a few friends and I planned a trip to Arizona to watch some Major League Baseball games. Sadly, the lockout caused my group to rethink what to do, and my sister told me we should check out an Arizona State Softball game.

We all agreed that would be fun. my friends and I bought some tickets and sat right behind the Arizona State dugout, and instantly a local favorite. During the game, we were cheering on the Sun Devils, but we were also an absolute terror for the BYU Cougars. We were constantly chanting BALL 3! anytime BYU's pitcher threw three balls in a count. We got the Cougars frustrated, and Arizona State ended up crushing BYU 8-0. 

Right before we were about to leave, the Arizona State softball players yelled up at us asking, Are you coming to tomorrow's game? We looked at each other, shrugged, and replied, Sure, why not? We will be there. 

The next day was even rowdier with us chatting START THE BUS at the end of the game because Arizona State ended up winning 10-0. We thought that was the last game, but the players yet again asked us to show up the next day, and we complied. 

I think one of the best parts of the games was when we were chanting, the players chanted with us. The assistant coaches appreciated that they bought us beers during the game. How can you not fall in love with a team? We were having the best time of our lives, and the team and fans loved us being there. 

We ended up being there at all five games this past weekend and Arizona State, and they destroyed every team. We even got a picture with the whole squad. Several season ticket holders tell us this was the most fun weekend they've ever had at an Arizona State softball game. One season ticket holder Nikki, who sat next to us, called our group her nephews from Montana. We felt the love.

Are we planning another trip to Arizona to watch the softball play? Yes. Are you going to be even louder than before? Probably. 

My whole take from this trip is that sometimes even though your plans might fall through, you can make your trip even more sensational by taking a risk and having good company around you.
