Montana’s Pioneer Baseball League Gets Fantastic New Addition
If you love the summers in Montana and baseball, this exciting news is a win for all fans.
Montana summers are known for gorgeous weather, beautiful scenery, and many fun activities for locals and visitors. It's an incredibly wonderful time of the year to be in Montana.
One of the best activities to enjoy is checking out the Pioneer Baseball League, which has four teams located in Montana. This independent league is partnered with Major League Baseball and features several players working their way to the big leagues. Plus, the MLB uses the Pioneer League to try out possible new rule changes that could be implemented.
The Missoula Paddleheads, Glacier Range Riders, Great Falls Voyagers, and Billings Mustangs are popular with families and baseball fans who love a night out at the ballpark.
Starting in 2024, a new team will be joining the league, and it's bittersweet for many fans.
CBS Sports reports the new baseball team joining the Pioneer League will be the Oakland Ballers. If you don't know, the Oakland Athletics announced a few weeks ago they will be leaving the Oakland area for Las Vegas in the next few years. This will leave Oakland without a team in any major sports.

The Oakland B's vow to never leave the city after the controversial move by the Oakland A's. The new independent team has some serious backing from investors and former major league talent.
This is incredibly exciting for the Pioneer League. The league has teams in Idaho, Washington, Utah, Colorado, and Montana and has been popular with their local communities.
If the Oakland B's prove to be a success, there is no doubt the league could keep growing with new and exciting cities.
Next summer, if you find yourself in Kalispell, Missoula, Great Falls, or Billings, treat yourself to a ball game. You might enjoy it.
