Man Accused Of Murder In Montana Had Violent Criminal Record
A man accused of first-degree murder in Bozeman, has a rap sheet of offenses dating back as early as October of 2023, including a history of violence with the victim, Megan Stedman.
Police were diligently searching for an RV they believed would have physical evidence regarding the whereabouts of Stedman, who was last seen on December 15th.
On Friday January 12th, the Idaho Falls police department received a tip that the RV they had been looking for was possibly at a local Walmart. Bozeman police then began the drive to Idaho Falls with the appropriate paperwork to search the RV in hopes of finding evidence of Stedman's whereabouts.
When police arrived, Foiles apparently admitted that he had indeed killed his girlfriend after an argument and that her body was inside of the RV.
There is evidence of domestic abuse previously taking place in the couples relationship. Foiles has also had the following charges just from last October:
- Two felonies of burglary and vandalism
- Six misdemeanors such as possession of burglary tools, theft with two prior theft convictions, two counts of obstruction of a peace officer, and two counts of resisting arrest
Some members of the community are asking why Foiles was released from custody in the first place.
Our hearts go out to the family of Megan Stedman.
If you or someone you know is experiencing abuse in anyway, physical, mental, or domestic, there are programs and people willing to help in every way they can.
