Common, Ab-Soul Connect on ‘Made in Black America’

'War,' Common's first release from his upcoming album, hinted that he was going to blend bravado with the socially conscious commentary he's known for while employing a harder more aggressive sound. He stick to that recipe on 'Made in Black America' featuring Ab-Soul.

This latest release does away with the apocalyptic horns to allow Common to wax over the funky guitar strums provided by No I.D. The Chicago MC sounds way more at home on this instrumental.

Ab-Soul also gets credit for effortlessly keeping pace with Common's fluidity, while dropping some gems in the process. "I break bread with with my brethren like a pizzeria / Spendin' dough, you'll find red dots over cheese," he raps.

Ab-Soul's project 'Black Lip Pastor' and Common's 'Nobody Smiling,' entirely produced by No I.D., are expected to drop later this year.
