Breaking These Montana Laws With Style And Grace. Are You Guilty?
As old as Montana is, there are some laws that are a bit ridiculous, to say the least, AND I guarantee are being broken on a daily. And I say, SO BE IT! These laws are outdated and guaranteed to be broken, so why not just get rid of them?
Let's start this off with "Law number one I have broke".
It is illegal for women who are married to go fishing on Sundays alone. I can tell you right now, that husbands are not the only ones who need a "break" from their annoying spouses, and spending every waking moment together is not always a good thing. Of course, this is what I am told, considering I am not married.
So for us unmarried ladies, well, we are not allowed to go fishing AT ALL, not just on Sundays, but any day of the week. Yeah, that's the dumbest thing I have heard. I can tie a line better than half the men I know. Just saying.
On to ridiculous Montana law number two.
Apparently if you have more than one alarm clock ringing at the same time you are a law breaker. Well call me a criminal. I typically set 4 alarms at one time, one or two minutes apart and still sleep like a rock. As you know, or maybe you don't, I have to get up early to entertain the world (ok maybe just a few people) but still, my alarms are all going at one time. If a night at the jail is the consequence for my alarms, I may as well book a week at a time.
If you are a resident of our state capital Helena, then pay close attention to this. You may not and can not toss any item across the street. So if you are tossing something to your friend, maybe a football or baseball, you should definitely think twice about it, as you would be breaking the law. Cancel any snowball fight and I don't think calling yourself an "athletic criminal" will look good on your resume.
