Bozeman Bank Robber Arrested After High Speed Chase

According to the Bozeman Police Department, officers arrested a man in Livingston after he led them on a high speed chase.

On September 2, 2020, at approximately 12:53 p.m., the Bozeman Police Department was dispatched to a holdup alarm at Yellowstone Bank at 1960 N. 19th Avenue in Bozeman. As officers were responding, bank employees confirmed with police dispatch the male suspect had entered the bank, and presented a note demanding money. The suspect left the bank a short time later and fled the area in a vehicle.

Arriving patrol officers located the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle briefly stopped before leading officers on a vehicle pursuit through the northeast section of Bozeman. The pursuit continued eastbound on Interstate 90, into Park County, where the tires of the suspect vehicle were punctured by tire deflating devices (aka Stop Sticks).

The suspect stopped his vehicle and was taken into custody without further incident. The suspect is currently being held in the Gallatin County Detention Center on a charge of Robbery, in violation of Montana Code Annotated 45-5-401, a felony. Further charges may be requested through the Gallatin County Attorney’s Office as the investigation is on-going.

No persons involved in this investigation sustained any injury.
