406 MT Sports is reporting that standout linebacker/running back/athlete Troy Andersen for the Montana State Bobcats will be red shirting the 2020 season to save his eligibility for the 2021 season.

The preseason All-American will be sitting out this year due to surgery he will be receiving from a injury on his lower extremity.

The surgery was scheduled earlier in the year but kept getting pushed back.

The injury happened last year during the game versus UC Davis and knocked him out for the rest of the year.

Andersen will be missed for the 2020 season but he will be back for next season.
