We've seen quite a few over the years.
You would think people would behave themselves while visiting Yellowstone National Park, but you would be wrong.
There have been several outrageous crimes in Yellowstone over the years. We aren't just talking about folks trying to pet wildlife or walking over the thermal hot springs.
People have gotten arrested for trying to cook chicken over the thermals, digging up graves to find buried treasure, and other ridiculous crimes.
It's wild what people try to do while in Yellowstone National Park.
Then, some crimes will baffle you. A crime where the person thought they could do whatever they wanted with zero repercussions.
Well, this guy learned the hard way.
Man Found Guilty of Assaulting Yellowstone Employee
This crime is mind-blowing.
Back in 2024, a 67-year-old Oregon man ended up getting arrested for assaulting a Yellowstone employee using his car.
He tried to bypass traffic due to construction and was going the wrong way when a Yellowstone employee stood in the road holding a stop sign, trying to make him halt.
The man accelerated his vehicle, and the employee jumped out of the way after being hit.
The man has officially stood trial and was found guilty of assaulting a federal employee with a dangerous weapon.
The Oregon man could face up to 20 years in federal prison with a fine of up to $250,000.
What made him do it? He said he was tired of waiting for the traffic and thought he could bypass it.
That's one way to ruin a vacation to Yellowstone. This man has to deal with the consequences.
