If you are heading into Yellowstone National Park this weekend, you might need to take a detour depending on where you are going.

Yellowstone National Park announced that there will be a temporary road closure between Mud Volcano and Fishing Bridge Junction.

The reason for the closure is due to an overturned semi truck trailer. The semi truck was also carrying hazardous materials, the hazardous material was gasoline.

Currently park crews are in the area to help with the hazmat clean up. There is no time table on how long the clean up will be. This is a ongoing accident and when more information is presented, the park will release it.

The good news is though that the road closure from Old Faithful to West Thumb Junction has finally reopened. The only way this road will close again is if there is an increase of wild fire activity from the Lone Star Fire.

If you don't know the Lone Star Fire is near Old Faithful, about three miles away. So the road staying open is entirely dependent on if the fire gets close to Old Faithful.

With the Labor Day Weekend coming up next weekend.and Yellowstone will surely see a big uptick in traffic from tourists so they need all their roads open to ease the tension of incoming cars.

The road closure between Fishing Bridge Junction and Mud Volcano will hopefully be cleared up in the next few days but remember folks to always be vigilant while on the roads and be careful. You never know what might happen.
