Would It Be Weird If Montana Banned These Foods?
Could we see Montana make this massive change? It would be wild and could cause some outrage.
We all love snacks. A snack can curb your hunger at work, at home, or late at night. Snacks are also a parent's best friend for fussy children. Snacks come in all different types of varieties. Everyone loves a fast and delicious snack.
Many snacks contain certain ingredients that could harm you in the long run. These chemicals are made to give snack foods longevity to last on shelves or give the food a specific color.
Well, one state announced they are making changes to ban certain chemicals to protect its citizens.
The Governor of California announced that the state will be banning four chemicals by 2027 that are found in popular candies and snacks nationwide. The one chemical that was included is Red Dye #3. This can be found in several popular candies, including Peeps, Hostess Ding Dongs, Dubble Bubble, Jelly Belly candy, and more.
Why is California banning these chemicals? These chemicals are linked to health problems, and the worst is cancer. These chemicals are banned in several countries, and California wants to follow suit.
Could Montana follow soon? We know Montana isn't a big fan of California, but this issue would benefit the health of many Montanans. These are popular snacks that many folks enjoy daily or weekly, but could have long-term consequences.
Even if Montana decided to join California on this crusade, it would take years for it to happen. Plus, there will probably be some blowback from the food companies on the horizon.
