Last Friday a grizzly bear tore through coolers and climbed on cars at the Rainbow Point Campground in West Yellowstone resulting in the campground being shut down till the bear was caught.

KBZK is reporting that the grizzly bear that was hanging out at the Rainbow Point Campground has been caught and has found a new home.

The grizzly bear has been relocated to the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone.

That's incredible news. Usually when a bear goes through a campground and gets trapped, it has to be euthanized because the bear becomes a threat getting close to people again.

Luckily there was a spot opened at the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center and they took this bear in.

The cool thing is during the spring the bears test food storage containers and the new grizzly bear will be a huge help.

The Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center is open every single day but be aware they have limited capacity to keep in line with social distancing guidelines.

Remember though, if you are going camping at a campground or in the back country to have your food secured in a location where animals can't get to it or you will be at risk of not only losing your food but having a not so friendly encounter with a bear.

Be safe out there and make sure you clean up after yourself at your campsite.
