Now that Christmas is over and the presents are gone from under the tree, it's time to face the reality of cleaning up after the holiday. Which brings us to today's poll question: When Do You Take Down Your Christmas Tree?  Please answer below

I have to confess, we took our Christmas Tree down the day after Christmas. It's already been up for nearly a month and is pretty crispy by the time Santa arrives. And as much as we love Christmas and the Holidays, my wife and I do look forward to getting our house back to its normal setting. We're also re-painting the living room, so the sooner the tree came down, the sooner we get to start applying brushes to walls.

Once you do take your Christmas Tree down, here's a few places you can take it to get it recycled.

Bozeman:

  • Gallatin County Regional Park - Entrance on Oak
  • St.Christie Fields (on Mason Street) - Entrance on E Mason St
  • Softball Complex (lower parking lot on Haggerty Lane) - Entrance on Haggerty Lane

Please Note: The BMX park on Tamarack (parking lot) is closed and not open for Christmas Tree drop off.

Belgrade:

  • Behind Lewis & Clark Park

A Final Note on Christmas Trees.

We were curious, what is the longest someone has used a Christmas Tree? Well, our friends at the Guinness Book of World Records have the answer. According to Guinness, the world’s Oldest Christmas tree is owned by Janet Parker of Chippenham, Wiltshire, UK. Her family has put up the same pine since 1886. It was purchased - possibly from Woolworths - for her Great Aunt ten years after the Battle of the Little Bighorn. It's a small tree, standing only 30 cm (12 in) high in an ornate pot.

Yes, we asked the same question. How has the tree not grown in 134 years? If we find out the answer, we'll let you know!
