No Way! This Isn’t Montana’s Most Famous Sandwich
I'm flabbergasted by how inaccurately Insider categorized this Montana staple.
Montana has a rich history when it comes to food, and one thing Montanans love to eat is a great sandwich. Not to mention, we have a famous sandwich that started right here in the state. So when I came across a list of the Most Famous Local Sandwich from Every State, I expected to see one answer, the right answer, but I was sorely mistaken.
Insider picked a sandwich out of the blue for Montana, and I think most of us would agree. Insider says the most famous local sandwich from Montana is a PB&J with huckleberry jam. Excuse you? Listen, I understand huckleberries are big in Montana, but this can't be the correct answer. Out of all the sandwiches we have, this is perhaps the most boring. Whoever made this list is dead wrong, and it needs to be corrected.
So what is the most famous local sandwich? It's the Pork Chop Sandwich.
The pork chop sandwich originated in Butte and is a favorite among many Montanans. This sandwich is a pork tenderloin battered and deep fried to perfection. Add condiments and other toppings and you've got yourself a stellar sandwich.
How did they mess up such an easy answer? If you are new to the area and wonder where you can get a pork chop sandwich, we recommend going to either the Hideaway Grill or Burger Bob's. Those are the only two local locations we know about that serve this Montana staple.
So if you want a true classic Montana sandwich, get yourself a pork chop sandwich.
