Montana Bill Will Add Marijuana Tax Revenue To New Sources
Many Montanans will be happy with this bill.
Montana Marijuana
It's been a booming business.
Marijuana sales in Montana have been very successful. Montana legalized recreational marijuana in 2022. It has created more than $1 billion in sales since.
The wildest part is that only half of the counties in Montana allow recreational marijuana.
Could you imagine if the entire state had recreational marijuana?
One vital part of why recreational marijuana passed in Montana was because of where the tax revenue from sales was going.
The tax revenue money was to help Montana FWP, veterans, and other crucial causes in Big Sky Country.
How much money has the tax revenue created? Over $170 million.
Some folks believe that other causes could benefit from the tax revenue marijuana creates in Montana, and the governor agrees.
New Marijuana Tax Revenue Bill
We are protecting our land.
The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports that Governor Greg Gianforte has signed House Bill 932, which expands uses for marijuana tax revenue.
This new bill would expand the uses of the tax revenue for conservation groups and wildlife habitat protection purposes.
Both sides of the aisle supported this bill. Democrats and Republicans know how important it is to keep Montana clean, safe, and accessible for everyone, and this bill will help those causes.
Recreational marijuana has seen several notions and bills in 2025, and most of them were trying to lower THC limits or other measures that have died for being blatantly terrible for businesses and consumers.
This bill shows that if you want to improve the lives of Montanans, and it comes from a unique source, both sides will agree to vote together.

We can't wait to see how this bill will further protect Big Sky Country.
