New Jurassic World Film Has Dinosaurs in Montana

You have to love when a movie studio gets creative when promoting one of the biggest releases of the year. 

One of the most anticipated summer blockbusters this year, is Jurassic World Dominion. The film is the sixth in the Jurassic Park franchise and will see all dinosaurs creating havoc around the globe. The film debuts Friday, June 10th, in theaters everywhere, including the Regal Cinemas in Bozeman. 

Many movie studios will have cast or crew create excitement through social media with giveaways or interesting facts. Colin Trevorrow, Jurassic World Dominions director, tweeted out a little chart on where certain dinosaurs are roaming in the United States. Look at the photo below. 

As you can see, even though the West Coast has the majority of dinosaur sightings, quite a few dinosaurs are hanging out in Montana. From the graph, the dinosaurs have been congregating in Yellowstone National Park, Bozeman, and near northern Montana. 

The dinosaurs that seem to have been in the area are Apatosaurus, Parasaurolophus, and maybe some sightings of Baryonyx. It's not surprising that there would be sightings of dinosaurs in Montana. 

Montana is one of the main places where dinosaur fossils have been discovered for many years. From velociraptors to T. Rex's to many others. The Museum of the Rockies is the center for all dinosaur fossils and information in the United States. It makes sense that some dinosaurs would return to their roots and for many that are in Montana. 

While many would probably welcome back dinosaurs to our area, I think some would hesitate if any of the dinosaurs coming back to Montana were carnivores. Plus, can you imagine tourists visiting Yellowstone National Park trying to pet one? I would bet money on that scenario. 

Either way, it's cool to see a new movie come out with all this information to gain excitement for their summer release coming out this summer.
