Montana’s Weirdest Slang Term Is A Unique Wintertime Activity
It might be a weird slang term to learn, but if you grew up in Montana, this is a beloved wintertime activity.
You probably won't believe this, but some Montanans have an accent. We pronounce words differently, like creek or bag and a few others. This accent is evident when you check out Montana's old school towns, where not much has changed.
Montana also has several slang terms that are used in everyday life. Slang terms can describe areas, animals, or scenarios in Big Sky Country.
There are plenty of slang terms snowboarders and skiers use during the winter, like snow ghosts or a bluebird day. If you don't know what those mean, snow ghosts are the trees at high altitudes covered in snow that look like ghosts, and a bluebird day is a pristine sunny day to enjoy the mountain.
What if I told you there is another slang term that is weird but describes a fun winter activity many teenagers participate in? You might want to learn this.

Montana's weirdest slang term is Hooky Bobbing.
What is hooky bobbing? Hooky bobbing is when someone is pulled on a sled, snowboard, or another surface behind a vehicle. I have seen kids rolling down the icy streets behind a truck and coasting on a sled with friends.
Is it dangerous? It can be if you aren't careful. Most teenagers that participate in this activity usually hooky bob in an empty parking lot to avoid police and crashing into cars.
With all the snow we've been getting this past week, don't be surprised if you see folks hooky-bobbing around town. Just be careful.
