The Pioneer League will be a bit different in 2021 but essentially this is promising for their future.

406 MT Sports is reporting that the minor league baseball Pioneer League has come to an agreement with Major League Baseball about their future. The Pioneer League will technically not be apart of the minor league baseball system for major league clubs but will be affiliated or a 'partner league'.

What does this mean? Teams in the Pioneer League will be able to sign players of varying experiences to play on their team and players will be able to transfer to other minor league teams in the major league baseball system with no issues.

This is fantastic news for all the Pioneer League teams in Montana. This includes the Billings Mustangs, Missoula Paddleheads(formerly the Osprey) and the Great Falls Voyagers.

Growing up in Montana going to one of these minor league baseball games was incredibly fun. My family and I used to go to the Missoula Osprey when we could and as a kid you got to see players make their first step onto possibly making to the big leagues. That gave a lot of kids hopes and dreams and you never want to take that away.

Sadly, we didn't even get to have a season in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and we are hoping that gets taken care of before next season because there is nothing better during the summer than grabbing friends or loved ones, heading to the ball park on a beautiful night and having a drink while watching baseball.
