Could we see these players further their careers in the NFL?

The Bobcats have seen their fanbase grow drastically over the past few years, thanks to nationally televised games on ESPN, and they were featured on College Gameday during the Brawl of the Wild a few years ago.

The Bobcats will be on primetime TV this week when they face off against the University of Idaho in the FCS Playoffs on ESPN this Friday night.

Bobcats In The NFL

A few Bobcat players have been able to further their football careers in the NFL.

Former standouts Troy Andersen and Daniel Hardy are on current NFL rosters.

Troy Andersen was drafted in the second round by the Atlanta Falcons a few years ago.

The Los Angeles Rams picked up Daniel Hardy in the seventh round as a defensive end. He currently plays for the Chicago Bears.

We have seen more Bobcats get opportunities in the NFL thanks to the team consistently being one of the best teams at the FCS level.

Could we see more Bobcats from this current squad head to the NFL?

There are a few possibilities.

Best NFL Prospects at Montana State

We scoured several NFL Draft pages for the best FCS prospects, and three names came up.

1. Marcus Wehr

This Senior Guard has consistently come up in several rankings for the best FCS prospects and a possible late-round gem. He's a powerful guard with a history of no injuries, and teams love that. He's projected to be a sixth or seventh-round pick.

2. Brendan Hall

The gigantic punter for the Bobcats has seen multiple scouts from the Vikings, Texans, and more come to home games to see his skills. The punter/kickoff specialist has a leg that is handy in the NFL. He's projected to be a seventh-round pick or an undrafted free-agent selection.

3. Tommy Mellott

Touchdown Tommy has the grit and determination to get into the NFL, but he will probably have to switch positions. Tommy Mellott could be a gadget guy like Julien Edelman was for the New England Patriots. Tommy could end up being a slot receiver to further his career.

Could we see these guys in the NFL next year?
