If there is one thing Montana has been really good during the COVID-19 pandemic we have all been making sure to not only protect ourselves but each other.

Wallet Hub came out with a ranking of the Safest States During COVID-19 and I honestly didn't know where Montana was going to land on the list but surprisingly we landed in the Top 10. Montana actually landed at #7 for the safest state during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The methodology behind this was a number of factors but they included the vaccination rate, positive test rates, death rate and hospitalization rate. For Montana these are all extremely low. From positive test rates and especially death rates from COVID-19 Montana has been extremely fortunate and the vaccination rate has gone up immensely in the past few weeks.

When the COVID-19 pandemic started back in March 2020 and we went into full lockdown, Montana was one of the states that took it seriously and made sure to protect everyone especially those at a higher risk. It was difficult at first and here in the Gallatin County we had one of the highest rate of positive cases but we fought back several times. The whole situation has been difficult but we are resilient.

Throughout 2020 and even the beginning of 2021 Montanans are still protecting themselves by wearing masks in public, consistently washing their hands and just protecting themselves. We all want to go back to some sense of normalcy and the people in Gallatin County and throughout Montana are doing their best to make sure that happens.
