Fantastic Montana Chef Qualified For The World Food Championship
This chef will soon face stiff competition against teams from different countries, but we know he will represent us well.
Some people outside of Montana might think we are simple about food, but we like to be fancy from time to time. We have a few sophisticated restaurants across the state that could earn a Michelin Star, and several chefs have been nominated in the past for a James Beard Award.
Seeing these fantastic Montana chefs earn acclaim and create food that locals love is incredible. Montana's chefs and restaurants are constantly overlooked. That might change soon if this competition goes well.
KRTV reports a Billings burger chef will be heading to Texas soon to compete in the World Food Championship. The chef's name is Kenny Rakstad, and he is currently the chef for The Copper Onion Bistro in Billings.
He qualified for the competition after winning a burger competition earlier this summer. Kenny Rakstad will face off against 21 other chefs to find out who has the best burger in the world. The teams he will have to beat come from Australia, Korea, and more.
The burger he plans on making will combine several types of meat, and he hopes it will be enough to take home the prize of $100,000.
This is incredible for Kenny. If you want to know how delicious your food is, where else is better than the World Food Championship? For Kenny to earn a spot in this competition was hard fought, and he deserves to be there.
Just thinking about this burger makes me hungry. Next time I am in Billings, I should check out the Copper Onion Bistro.
