Lady Gaga and Katy Perry may become part of an ongoing legal battle between Kesha and Dr. Luke if new evidence finds its way into the courtroom.

According to E! News, a judge has obtained and sealed a text message sent from Lady Gaga to Kesha in April 2016. The contents of the text and its potential implications are still unclear, and it's still not certain whether the message will definitely be used as evidence (it's up to both Kesha's and Dr. Luke's attorneys to decide).

What is for sure, though, is that Dr. Luke "may share with Lady Gaga and Katy Perry the April 2016 text that Kesha sent to Lady Gaga, which Kesha turned over in discovery," according to E!'s document.

Kesha sued Dr. Luke in 2014, claiming the producer had sexually assaulted her, and sought to sever the recording contracts that bound them. The case has since gone back and forth, landing on a particularly unfortunate chapter in February 2016, when a judge denied Kesha's request for an injunction that would have permitted her to release music independently of Dr. Luke.

Kesha has dropped a case against Dr. Luke in California, but is proceeding with a New York battle.

Lady Gaga's previously spoken out in support of Kesha, noting during an April 2016 interview with Carson Daly: "I feel like she's being very publicly shamed for something that happens in the music industry all the time, to women and men...I just want to stand by her side because I can't watch another woman that went through what I've been through suffer."
