Small Town Montana Hotel Has Been Called On Of The “Finest” In America
Montana is full of history. Some of it is fascinating, while other parts can be a little infamous. As you travel across Montana, you will come across some of the most historic and interesting sites in the country.
From "Ghost Towns" to buildings and homes that have been around for well over a hundred years, Montana is unique in the fact that it many ways, much of the state is like a time capsule.
Places like the Dumas Brothel, Bannack, the Daly Mansion, Virginia City, the old Montana State Prison, and many other popular sites attract thousands of visitors each year.
For those that might not be aware, one small Montana town is home to a Hotel that is one of the best examples of "Old West Hospitality" in this part of the country.
Which Montana Hotel is considered one of the "Finest" in America?
Located in the town of Three Forks, is the Sacajawea Hotel which opened its door back in 1910. The Hotel has that 'old school' feel for those looking to take a trip back in time. For decades, the Sacajawea welcomed guests from not only Montana but also travelers making their way through The Treasure State.
According to the Sacajawa Hotel's website, the hotel shut down and was boarded up back in 2001, however, in 2009 a local Montana family bought the hotel and brought it back to its former glory.
The Sacajawea received the 2011 Historic Preservation Award of Excellence.
The Sacajawea has 29 beautifully decorated rooms and is a popular venue for weddings and get-togethers. The Hotel boasts such amenities as multiple bars, one of the best steakhouses in the state that has an impressive menu that uses locally sourced ingredients, and a spa.
It's a perfect spot for those locals looking to get away for a weekend, or those who are traveling to Montana and would like a one-of-a-kind experience. Located close to Yellowstone National Park, Bozeman, Butte, and Headwaters State Park there is plenty in the area to check out while staying in the Hotel.
