I Found Out My Hometown Has a Rock Skipping Championship
Do you ever have one of those days where you find out your hometown has an event or something quirky about it and you had no idea? Well, I just found out my hometown of Polson, Montana has a skipping rock championship this Saturday and I was stunned.
It's the perfect location. Flathead Lake is not only gorgeous but has endless amounts of shoreline to skip rocks. Fun fact: Flathead Lake is the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi River. That's right, bigger than Lake Tahoe.
One of the coolest parts about this event is that all the proceeds are going to support the construction of the Mission Valley Ice Arena (which I hope happens soon). If you would like more details on the event check out the story on KPAX.com.
