Well, Montana didn't get this beauty overnight.

It took millions of years of ice ages, geothermal reactions, and tectonic plates shifting to create Montana's landscape.

It's incredible to learn what it took for Montana to look this beautiful.

Montana might look calm on the surface, but you should know some things are lurking underneath.

Dangers of Montana

We aren't talking about the wildlife.

Montana might seem gorgeous outside, but Big Sky Country has some secrets.

Montana sees recurring earthquakes. These earthquakes are mostly minor due to small fault lines, but there have been some massive earthquakes in Montana's past.

Then, there are the acidic hot springs in Yellowstone National Park.

We've seen stories of folks accidentally falling into these springs and ending up either extremely burned or, in some cases, dead.

Both things are terrible, but is there something else we should be worried about?

Hidden Super Volcano in Montana

Let's hope it stays dormant.

MSN published 14 States Hiding Super Volcanoes, and Montana has one you should know about.

The Montana super volcano is home to the Hebgen Lake Caldera.

The upside is that the volcano is dormant, but there is still seismic activity around the area.

The volcano is part of the larger Yellowstone Caldera, which stretches into Wyoming and Idaho.

There are also several other smaller volcanoes in Montana.

Luckily, all dormant.

So, you won't have to worry about a volcanic eruption anytime soon.

Unless you watch the movie 2012, you might worry after watching that film.

Montana is always hiding something cool.
