We need to step up our game in Montana.

March Madness

Who doesn't love the Big Dance?

The NCAA Tournament is fully underway for men's and women's college basketball, and the Sweet Sixteen is this weekend.

It's when you could see small schools like Montana or Montana State face power programs from across the country.

The Montana Grizzlies men's and Montana State women's teams made the NCAA Tournament but lost in their 1st round games.

To watch these programs on a national stage has been incredible, but it's sad for locals.

Why?

Most of these games happen in large cities across America.

Seattle, Spokane, Dayton, and other cities are hosting multiple tournament games.

Traveling to those locations can be expensive for locals.

Montana Hosting The NCAA Tournament

There are a few stipulations.

No place in Montana could host the Final Four, but what about opening-round games?

Absolutely.

The Adams Center in Missoula once hosted first and second-round games.

The Brick Breeden in Bozeman could also be a venue.

Both cities would be easy for teams to travel to and offer a new venue for visiting fans to experience.

Even if Montana State or the Montana basketball teams aren't involved, it would be a massive event for either city to host an event like this.

Basketball fans would travel from across Montana and surrounding states to experience March Madness in person.

You could watch the potential championship team start their journey in Montana.
