Montanans Would Go Crazy For This Unique Restaurant

If there is one restaurant that would be a hit with locals and be a fun nod to Montana, it would be this place.

When people think of restaurants in Montana, they probably only think of steakhouses. They're not wrong. We have some incredible steak spots locals love in several small towns or cities across Montana.

Montana is also known for their signature foods you can only find in our state. We are known for huckleberries, pork chop sandwiches, and the pasty. Pasties have a deep history with Montana because, during the mining days, miners would often have them for lunch. It was a simple pastry stuffed with meat, vegetables, and other ingredients.

There are only a handful of pasty shops in Montana, and they are located in Butte and Anaconda. You can also find some of these delicious treats in grocery stores, but you need to heat them in the microwave or the oven.

What if you could enjoy this treat at a nice sit-down restaurant? If we had our way, this place would open in Montana as soon as possible.

I was down in Arizona this past week and experienced a place called the Cornish Pasty Co. The Cornish Pasty Co. has several locations in Arizona and one in Nevada. Dean is from Cornwall, England, and uses his great-grandmother's recipes to make the most delicious pasties you will ever enjoy.

Dean had to become a vegan for dietary reasons and now has a fantastic list of vegetarian and vegan pasties. Are they any good? My friend's wife is vegetarian and had us visit this restaurant frequently during our visit.

What makes them so delicious? The pastry is flaky, the ingredients are high quality, and the pasty weighs at least one pound(a requirement by the owner).

If the Cornish Pasty Co. opened a location in Montana, it would bring a unique new restaurant to Montana that would be a hit with locals and tourists.

We recommend you don't have anything planned the next day or later because after eating one of these delicious pasties, you will want to take a long nap.
