CDC: Don’t Eat Raw Cookie Dough This Holiday Season
The holidays are a special time to spend with friends and family. That's why the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is reminding folks about one way to make your holiday season more enjoyable: don't miss out on time with loved ones by coming down with E. coli or Salmonella.
The CDC is reminding folks to "Say No to Raw Dough!"
The reason for the message? Raw cookie dough can contain bacteria that can cause illness.
For instance, flour is a raw agriculture product, that means it hasn't been treated to kill germs like E. coli and raw eggs can contain Salmonella, which can make you just as sick.
The CDC has listed some Safe Food Practices when dealing with raw cookie dough all because you deserve to have a wonderful illness-free holiday season.
