CDC: Five in MT Sick From Salmonella in Ground Beef
Checking the burger meat tonight.
The CDC is reporting an outbreak of Salmonella infection linked to ground beef. There have been 57 cases reported so far from 16 states and five of those cases are from Montana.
Apparently, 6.5 million pounds of beef have been recalled due to possible contamination.
If you have bought ground beef and it carries the establishment number 'EST. 267,' inside the USDA mark of inspection, you should call the store where you bought the meat to see if it's recalled.
Salmonella infection can cause stomach cramps, diarrhea, and fever 12 to 72 hours after being exposed to the bacteria.
