We hope this isn't a trend of what the rest of the year has in store because it might be a record year.

The Bozeman Police Department had a busy end of 2022 with a record number of calls, DUIs, and other statistics. Many would hope the start of 2023 would be a slow start to the year with the cold weather and everyone getting their bearings, but that hasn't been the case.

The Bozeman Police Department posted on its Facebook page the statistics since the start of 2023, and the numbers are wild.

Since the start of 2023, the Bozeman Police Department has charged 45 people for DUIs. That's at least seven people per week since the beginning of January. In the past few days, the Bozeman Police have opened 122 cases of various crimes and responded to over 1000 calls. The Bozeman Police have also made 184 traffic stops in the past three days, and these stops don't include reckless driving, DUIs, and other calls to dispatch.

The K9 unit has especially been busy over the past week. The adorable German Shephard Stretch helped his human officer serve a search warrant on a vehicle possibly holding several types of illegal narcotics. The search discovered fentanyl, meth, cocaine, Xanax bars, heroin, pills, and a few firearms in the car. That's quite the haul to find in one vehicle.

We aren't two months into 2023, and the Bozeman Police Department have been tirelessly working on keeping our community safe, and we want to thank them from the bottom of our hearts.

We hope the Bozeman Police can have a little break during Valentine's Day, but we can only hope.
