Bozeman also has a huge problem with bad drivers, which only seems to be worsening. In the past month, two bicyclists were hit by vehicles. In September, a 75-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing Huffine Lane.

On Tuesday, October 4, Kelly Fulton, a Bozeman High School teacher, was riding his bicycle when he was hit by a vehicle on his way to work. He was hospitalized and later died from his injuries.

Bozeman's problem with distracted and inattentive drivers is getting out of hand. Personally, I've almost been hit multiple times while trying to cross the street at a crosswalk. It seems that the problem keeps getting worse as Bozeman continues to grow.

Another major factor is that many drivers don't adhere to basic traffic laws. The number of people running stop signs and stop lights are astronomical. Does the Bozeman Police Department need to expand its traffic division so that there's more of a presence on the streets? What can be done to fix the problem?

It's hard to imagine what Yellowstone National Park would look like in black and white. We are so used to seeing the colors that make it one of America's favorite travel destinations. Jezel Doughert's grandmother passed away and like many of us do, she spent hours going through years and years of history, from old yearbooks to news clippings, to pictures. Jezel sent me a piece of history that, if not for her, I wouldn't be able to share with you.
