According to a recent survey by Vacasa, two out of five Americans plan to travel during the holidays, and Big Sky was named one of the most popular destinations that you can still book for the 2020 holiday season. In fact, Big Sky, Montana is the top destination.

In another survey, Vacasa named Big Sky, Montana the best place to buy a vacation home in 2020.

This four-season destination draws guests from surrounding states seeking natural beauty and plenty of activities. From the endless miles of snowy terrain that brings skiers, snowboarders, and snowmobilers to the area, to the spring and summer months ripe for whitewater rafting, fly fishing, and canoeing, there’s always something to discover in Big Sky.

Many people have been leaving more populated cities in exchange for more land and larger homes in Montana. Those wanting to spend more time in the great outdoors have been flocking to Montana recently. Median home prices in many places in Montana have skyrocketed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Those that own vacation homes in Montana have been spending a lot more time here this year.

In Big Sky, the median home sales price is $541,842, according to the report. Compared to Vale, Colorado, the median home sales price in Big Sky is more than $100,000 dollars less, and the annual rental income tops Vale's $65,998.

Big Sky topping the list indicates that people are choosing to vacation in places with more space to move around without having to be in close contact with others. It's no surprise that Montana has been a popular vacation destination during the pandemic. Montana offers some of the best outdoor opportunities in the country. Not only does Big Sky offer great outdoors opportunities, it also isn't far from Yellowstone National Park, which offers a plethora of outdoor opportunities.
