Is This Montana Ski Town One of The Best in America?
Montana might think we have some of the best ski towns in America, but we have some stiff competition.
The summer is ending soon, and the weather will start cooling down. No one is looking forward to the winter months in Montana except all the powder hounds. As soon as the snow starts falling, you will see folks heading up to the mountains to enjoy the slopes as early as October. It all depends on when the snow starts accumulating on the mountain.
Montana has some fantastic ski towns, but how do they stack up to the rest of America? We now have the answer.
OnTheSnow made a list of the 11 Best Ski Towns To Live In America, and one Montana ski town landed in the Top 3.
Landing at #3 was Bozeman.
OnTheSnow points out how Bozeman is near Bridger Bowl and Big Sky Resort. Both mountains have perfect powder every year and views that are awe-inspiring. OnTheSnow made this list for singles, families, or anyone considering a full-time move to the mountains, where you can ski anytime. They aren't talking about the ski bum lifestyle.
Here's the thing, they also pointed out how anyone from Bozeman will freak out if you mention it's a great place to live. That's true! Many locals are tired of folks moving here, jacking up the real estate market, and ruining our local mountains.
Is Bozeman a ski town? A little bit. The problem is these both ski resorts have almost priced out locals to ski or snowboard their slopes. This has led folks to find other places to shred for an affordable price.
The only other ski town in Montana that should be considered on this list is Whitefish. Whitefish is at the base of Whitefish Mountain Resort but isn't too far away from Blacktail, Montana's only upside-down ski area.
Do you agree Bozeman is one of the best ski towns in Montana? Maybe if it was cheaper but that's our opinion.
