UPDATE: The NCAA announced today that all conference and national championship tournaments have been cancelled due to concerns over the coronavirus.

Not only is the basketball tournaments cancelled but so are all winter and spring sports championships as well.

This means no College World Series for both college baseball and softball, no Frozen Four for men's and women's ice hockey and so many other sports.

This is truly heartbreaking especially for all of the athletes who have trained so hard but we have to understand why the NCAA did this.

Many conference tournaments have been playing without fans so far including the Big West and Mid-American Conference.

With locations of tournament games all over the nation during March Madness the NCAA are trying to cover all their bases.

So if either the Montana State men's or women's basketball teams make the tournament they will be playing in front of thirty people, if they are lucky.

Folks will have to watch the games from home and that means TV ratings will soar.
