Are Airbnb’s in Montana Becoming More Affordable? Maybe
This has been long overdue and one of the biggest issues with this service.
The weather is finally warming up in Montana, and many folks locally and nationally will be heading to Big Sky Country to vacation.
Folks will head to Montana to unwind and become one with nature or adventure out of the cities and find peace.
If you don't like camping or staying in a hotel, vacation rentals are the go-to for many folks who want their friends or family to stay in one convenient location.
People usually go through services like VRBO or Airbnb, but one major issue with these vacation rentals is the fees. When browsing VRBO, you will see the entire price, while on Airbnb, a rental could seem cheap, but then you are hit with several fees, skyrocketing the total cost.
Airbnb has received criticism for these insane additional fees and has pushed folks to find accommodations elsewhere. Some of the fees can cost as much as the nightly rate.
Changes might be on the way.
Thrillist reports the CEO of Airbnb has seen the upset reviews and customers and plans on making changes.
Airbnb is forcing their hosts to include the fees in their prices so customers aren't surprised. What has happened is many of these hosts have lowered their nightly rate and seen a surge in bookings.
That's fantastic news.
As someone who travels around Montana and likes to vacation, finding an Airbnb that doesn't overcharge with their fees is hard.
Airbnb doesn't want to lose out on business. It's nice to see a service hear criticism and positively change for their customers.
