Is This Something Western Montana Should Worry About?
When you look at the details, this might be a growing problem in certain parts of Montana.
Let me start this off by saying I love my dad. He's a fantastic guy who I adore dearly, but there are moments where this man brings up topics that come out of left field sometimes. You know what I mean? We could be talking about football, and out of nowhere, he will bring up how his new medication isn't helping him sleep.
Where did that come from?
That's family for you. They will bring up topics or people that have no bearing on what is going on in your life, but you have to endure because they are family. Except my dad brought up something that made me think maybe something might be happening that I should look into.
My dad brought up how there aren't any bagel spots left in Western Montana. He's a big bagel guy. My parent would travel to Columbia Falls or Missoula to get bagels from their favorite bakery, Brooklyn Bagel, once a month, but both spots have surprisingly closed down.
The only other place that made fresh bagels near my folks was Bagels Over Broadway in Missoula, and they closed back in January 2023.
That made me realize Western Montana might have a growing problem with their breakfast spots. Missoula has seen several prominent breakfast spots and bakeries close over the past few years. The only popular breakfast spot that still stands is Paul's Pancake Parlor.
We are fortunate in Bozeman to have places like Bagelworks to provide the Gallatin Valley with fresh and delicious bagels, not to mention all the fantastic breakfast spots. We are lucky to live in an area with so many choices.
Do you think this is something Western Montana should be concerned about, or is my dad just overreacting? Let me know on the app.
