UPDATE: Beartooths Could See a Foot of Fresh Snow by Sunday
As light snow falls around the hills surrounding Bozeman, the Beartooths could see up to a foot of fresh snow by Sunday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service:
- WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON SUNDAY.
- WHAT...Periods of snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches.
- Heaviest amounts on north facing slopes above 6500 feet.
- WHERE...Absaroka/Beartooth Mountains.
- WHEN...Through noon MDT Sunday.
- IMPACTS...Travel will be difficult at times. The Beartooth Pass is closed. Recreation activities will be affected by wet snow, freezing temperatures and poor visibility.
- Travel and recreation activities may be difficult.
- Expect freezing temperatures with snow covered roads and limited visibility at times.
