Apparently China can't handle graphic content like us Americans.

One of my most anticipated films is definitely the Ryan Reynold led superhero film Deadpool which comes out Feb. 12. This is new territory for mainstream superhero films.  This is a hard rated R film that contains graphic content, violence and graphic nudity.  Plus, this is a character in the comic book world that breaks the 4th wall (that means he will talk to the audience during the film).

That's why it's so darn interesting that this film was banned in China for graphic content.  The filmmakers tried to tidy up the film, but the problem is that the parts that included the graphic content would leave significant plot holes and thus not making it a viable movie for the people of China.

China is a huge part of the international market for films and has had different cuts of films to include more Chinese actors (Iron Man 3), cut out violence against the Chinese (Spectre) or have movies that deal with ghosts (Crimson Peak). This is all very interesting, but I feel terrible that China won't be able to enjoy the completely insane movie that will be Deadpool. Well, it's their loss.  For more on this check out the article on Collider.
