Montana Westerns

We love the Wild West.

Montana has been a hotbed for Western films for decades.

Several Western movies set or filmed in Montana include Open Range, Rancho Deluxe, A Murder in Yellowstone City, The Last Son, and many others.

We have seen many movie stars and Academy Award winners, including Jeff Bridges and Nicolas Cage, shoot cowboy films in Montana.

The Montana Film Office has been crucial in the past several years, working with local and state governments to increase the tax breaks, making Big Sky Country more attractive for TV and movie productions.

Many locals have benefited from these productions. New jobs, a rise in tourism, a sense of pride for Montana, and seeing Hollywood movies and TV productions come to our state have all been benefits.

This news is exciting. Saban Films has a history of releasing several Montana-made films, including Supercell with Alec Baldwin and Butcher's Crossing starring Nicolas Cage.

Does this mean we could see The Unholy Trinity in a local theater? We hope so.

Seeing a movie produced in Montana makes it more special for locals.
